A crazed fan bum-rushed David Beckham on the field Monday, hugging and high-fiving the LA Galaxy star.

Beckham looked surprised as the guy was flattened by teammate Chris Klein and then held down by security.  Once Becks realized the ballsy fan didn’t mean him any harm he helped the guy to his feet.

“I was slightly concerned when I first saw him running at me because he didn’t have a smile on his face and he didn’t have a Galaxy shirt on.  So I didn’t know if he was going to come and give me a hug or something else.  These things happen in games all over the world. Luckily, he just wanted to give me a high five and that was the end of it.”

Alanis Morissette recently spoke with Newsweek’s Jac Chebatoris about her new album “Flavors of Entanglement,” her upcoming book and her ex-boyfriend Ryan Reynolds.

Let’s just get it out of the way: how do you feel about your ex-boyfriend Ryan Reynolds’s engagement to Scarlett Johansson?
[Laughs] I’m really happy for him.

Wasn’t your record originally supposed to come out on the same day as hers?
My album release date has been moved five times, so I wasn’t even aware of what dates were what at this point.

You strike me as someone with a Zen quality.
I just did a tour with [Matchbox Twenty's] Rob Thomas, and he kept saying that whenever I wasn’t with him, his imagining was that I was levitating somewhere, meditating. Cut to we had the most debaucherous, entertaining, hysterical time together, so they were the first to say that their perception of me was a little off!

You’re writing a book?
I’m so excited about it. I’m having to put a pin in it right now because I’m touring and I can’t focus on it, but it will re-emerge when this cycle of touring ends. It’s a book of essays that I’ve written and photographs from my travels and self-care practices.

What do you mean by “self-care”?
Just what to do when you’re completely depressed about—fill in the blank. Little exercises you can do.

I need that book!
I want it for myself! It’s a total selfish endeavor.

After “You Oughta Know” came out, you were known as Angry Alanis. Do you still get that?
I think anger is an incredible life force, and I’m proud of my own anger. I think so much of it has to do with where you channel it. I’d been repressing for a long time this sort of cultural thing for me, as being a Canadian, was that I was very passive-aggressive. So a lot was squashed down, and all of a sudden I had this freedom to write whatever I wanted, so of course this was going to come out.

Do you think a lot of people might have that wrong impression of you?
Well, what happens is that in interviews, I’d wind up being really philosophical, so the levity and the debauchery were in my private life, and then, the other persona came forth in my more public life.

• Courteney Cox’s FX show, Dirt, will not be renewed for a third season. She broke the news at the “A Time for Heroes” Celebrity Carnival by saying, “It just got canceled.” However, she adds that she and hubby David, who she co-produced the show with, have other tricks up their sleeve. She dished, “We’re developing all kinds of stuff right now. We’ll producing more stuff together, for sure.” On a side note, Cox recently said her BFF Jennifer Aniston is doing good these days, and the two have been enjoying time together with and without Jen’s flavor of the week, John Mayer.

• Mark Wahlberg, 37, is going to be a daddy for the third time. He and longtime girlfriend Rhea Durham, 29, have two other children, daughter, Ella, 4 and son Michael, 2. “When the kids are good, we want eight or nine. When they’re bad, we [want] to stop at three,” Wahlberg said Monday while promoting his new movie, The Happening. Wahlberg didn’t say when the baby is due, but he said that having a family is “awesome . . Hectic at times, but a lot of fun.” He also revealed the pressures of fatherhood. “My fear is failing as a father, as a friend, as a son. I have a lot of responsibility and a lot of people counting on me. And I know God has put me in this position to put back and try to create some opportunities for some others, show kids there is another way.”

• Jay Leno is reaching out to “Tonight” show alum Ed McMahon as he faces foreclosure on his Beverly Hills home. “Everybody loves Ed. Jay and others on the show are discussing how they can help him,” Leno’s rep told the NY Daily News. Reportedly, McMahon’s public money troubles have prompted help from fans of Johnny Carson’s former sidekick, including several endorsement offers. “A lot of people have shown generosity,” says Howard Bragman, McMahon’s rep. “Things are going to work out.”

• Kate Hudson refused to comment about a possible relationship with Lance Armstrong on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show Monday morning. Hudson was on the show promoting her new eco-friendly hair product line with long time stylist David Babaii. Seacrest probed, “Are the rumors you’re dating Lance Armstrong true?” Hudson replied, “I don’t discuss my personal life . . My main priority in my life is my son and the number one thing I’ve learned is to discuss [these] things only causes more problems and more words taken out of context. Everything is always misconstrued and it’s always better to just let people speculate.” After the show Seacrest said he has a hunch that the two are a couple. “If it weren’t true, I’d say no. If it were true, I’d say what they just said.”

Tori Spelling gave birth to baby girl on Monday.

She and husband Dean McDermott named her Stella Doreen (Doreen was the name of Dean’s late mother) McDermott. She weighed 6 lbs 8 oz.

Tori’s spokesperson said, “She’s here! She’s a healthy baby girl. Tori and baby are resting comfortably.”

“Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere is front and center on the cover of the June issue of Glamour U.K., opening up on what it’s like to be a little person in a big world and pretending to be bisexual because nobody gives a rat’s ass about her. Hayden says

“It’s great to be single. It’s great to have boyfriends. Or girlfriends. There are occasions when you kiss your best friend growing up, having fun and goofing about. Like perfecting your technique.”

I don’t know why Hayden thinks that her sexuality is so elemental to her self-worth. She’s so much more than that. If only she could look inward and draw strength from the proud heritage of her people, like she did at the Battle for Helms Deep. “Let them come! There is one Dwarf yet in Moria who still draws breath!” Still her finest bearded role to date.

Stephanie Ragusa, a former teacher who stands accused of having sex with minor students, has written a letter of support to Nick (Bollea) Hogan while both are behind bars.

The sexual predator wrote the letter to Nick, 17, on June 2nd. She faces charges of lewd or lascivious battery and unlawful sexual activity with a minor.

The Pinellas County sheriff’s department says they recognized Ragusa’s name on the envelope and and intercepted the letter before giving Nick a copy.

In the letter Ragusa accepts no responsibility for her actions and tells Nick that it’s all society’s fault.

“It’s not us, Nick, but something ‘off’ with society, that our situations garner more attention and print than the president, the election, or even an earthquake killing thousands.  Nothing prepares you for nor prevents it; sensationalism.”

She closed her letter with the following, “I have no doubt that you will rise above your current surroundings having experienced a personal inner growth known only to yourself in these many hours of isolation.  You remain in my prayers.”

One of Nick’s attorneys stated that his client has no desire to continue correspondence with the former teacher.

Video footage of Mary-Kate Olsen being carried to her car and then tumbling out of the backseat after partying in L.A. Thursday night has sparked rumors than The Thinspiration will be taking another sabbatical in rehab. (I searched high and low this morning for the footage, but it’s all mysteriously been yanked after making the rounds late Friday afternoon.) According to Full Disclosure

Olsen went to rehab in Utah in 2004 for an eating disorder amid rumors that she was also being treated for substance abuse. Now friends say she is out of control again.

“She refused to talk to Elle magazine about her involvement with Heath Ledger [and it] has brought the whole thing up in the press again and she has been depressed all over,” one pal tells us.

Boy, I wish I could make a living out of drinking my body weight and passing out on the street. Of course, for Mary-Kate, drinking her body weight translates to three Bacardi Breezers and a buttery nipple if she’s retaining water, but still. I’d be fucking Fortune 500 by now instead of just part-time in your mom’s pants. Oh, that’s right — buuurrn, mothafuckas!

Amy Winehouse has apologized for a video of her and a friend singing a racist version of the children’s favorite ‘Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’ in May of last year. News of the World says of the clip

[Husband Blake Fielder-Civil] pretends NOT to record and [says]: “Can we have a singsong of it?” Amy enthusiastically sings: “Blacks, Pakis, Gooks and Nips, Gooks and Nips! And deaf and dumb and blind and gay!” She repeats the first line over again and pulls her eyes into slits then pushes her boobs up.

Just when “black” and “Paki” became racial slurs I’m sure I don’t know, but of course, sensitive people everywhere think that they’re outraged. Shocked and outraged. To be honest, I’m a little disappointed. I could make up three or four waaay more racist children’s songs off the top of my head without even trying. And I’m not entirely convinced that “I’m a Little Teapot” and “Hey Diddle Diddle” aren’t already racist children’s songs that nobody’s caught on to yet.
